About Me

I’m an award-winning freelance science journalist based in Washington, D.C. I'm currently a reporter at Quanta magazine.


My work has been published in ScienceNature, The New York Times, Science News, Knowable, and Mongabay, among others.


In the past, I was a fellow at The Open Notebook, as well as a correspondent and editor for Medscape en Español.

I’m a founding member of the Mexican Network of Science Journalists.

I hold a master's in Science Communication from UC Santa Cruz and a bachelor's in biomedical science from UNAM.

2015 — Present

My freelance work has been published both in English and Spanish. My reporting has covered everything from science policy to health, biology, wildlife and the environment.
